Emily Estefan’s longtime partner, Gemeny Hernandez, arrested in Miami for alleged cellphone assault amid domestic dispute.

The longtime partner of Gloria Estefan’s daughter, Gemeny Hernandez, was arrested in Miami on domestic violence charges following an alleged altercation over a cellphone.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Department, Gemeny Hernandez, 31, was taken into custody on October 28 and charged with felony strong-arm robbery and misdemeanor battery. The report, first published by TMZ and confirmed by PEOPLE, states that the alleged victim was her partner of eight years.
The Alleged Incident
Per the affidavit, Hernandez allegedly “forcefully took her cellphone from her partner’s hand and struck her with it.” A physical struggle reportedly followed as the victim attempted to retrieve the device.
“The parties fell onto the floor as the struggle for the cellphone continued,” the affidavit reads. “Once separated, the victim called 911 to report the incident.”

The report notes that the victim sustained minor injuries, including a bruise near her left eye and scratches on her neck.
During questioning, Hernandez denied taking the phone but admitted involvement in the physical altercation. She was subsequently arrested and released on a $3,000 bond, according to county records.
A Longtime Relationship
Hernandez and Emily Estefan, 30, have been in a public relationship since 2016. The couple co-hosts the “In Our Own World” podcast and frequently appears together on red carpets and social media.
Their podcast website describes them as having a “dedicated partnership since 2016.” In a 2024 Instagram post celebrating nearly eight years together, Hernandez wrote:
“Love is growing up. Love is watching the pigment in your hair fade, the wrinkles on your face form, the softness in your voice amplify. Almost 8 years beautiful. Te Amo 🌹”
The couple recently attended an event for the Con Cora Foundation alongside Gloria Estefan, 68, and Emilio Estefan, 72.
Representatives for the Estefan family have declined to comment on the incident. As of publication, Hernandez has not responded to media requests for a statement.
